This Week In POKT (March 16th)

PROTOCOL

  • The protocol’s revenue saw an addition of 16K POKT through the burn, moving us closer to our goal of sustainability.

GOVERNANCE

  • Voting commenced on PUP-33, aiming to increase the block size and the minimum number of proofs, facilitating scalability for POKT Morse as POKT Shannon development continues.

  • Additionally, the voting process began for appointing an Observer to PNF’s Board. The DAO-appointed observer will have a crucial role, offering the opportunity to influence core decisions.

GATEWAYS

  • The second POKT Gateway, Nodies, achieved a significant milestone, processing over 10 billion relays since its inception.

COMMUNITY

  • Beta testing for various Community Onboarding Quests on the POKT Discord has started. The Node Runner quest is one such initiative.Try it here :point_down:

This Week In POKT (March 23rd)

PROTOCOL

  • The private Testnet for Shannon was launched. The protocol team will use this for quick iterations and to establish the basics for Shannon before the launch of a public Testnet in April. Catch up on more protocol updates from the week’s Builder’s Call.

  • PUP-33: SPACE has been approved by the DAO. This approval will lead to updating 2 on-chain parameters in POKT Morse. The updates will increase the block size and raise the minimum number of proofs required for a node to claim.

  • 13.9k POKT was burned and added to the protocol’s revenue.

PROTOCOL

  • We announced the listing of $POKT on Upbit, enhancing its accessibility.

  • Following the approval of PUP-33: SPACE, the following protocol parameters were updated:
    • BlockByteSize expanded from 8MB to 12MB


    • MinimumNumberOfProofs increased from 10 to 500

GOVERNANCE

  • The CREDS proposal (PIP-37) was published, introducing a governance model based on reputation rather than capital.

  • PEP-67 was greenlit by the DAO, setting the stage for enhanced POKT liquidity across exchanges.

  • The DAO elected @Cryptocorn as PNF’s new Board Observer, aiming to be a valuable liaison between the community and board.

PROTOCOL

  • Following a one-month grace period for a smooth transition, the final phase of PUP-33: SPACE was implemented. The BlockByteSize parameter was increased from 12MB to 16MB to facilitate the onboarding of new gateways and chains.

GATEWAYS

  • Liquify, POKT’s 3rd Gateway, officially announced going live with beta testing currently underway. If you’re interested in joining as a beta tester, fill out the Liquify Portal BETA waitlist
