This week, we’re going to talk about three key areas in our strategy moving forward: operations, economic changes, and marketing.
Operations
As of this week, the two board observers (@Cryptocorn and @0xbowen) have been granted access to the core leadership communications channels. Both are enabled and empowered to report to the DAO in real time regarding their oversight. In addition to this, we are working through designing some processes that will make public director decision making, budget, etc.
While the financial picture is clearing up, we still have work to do. I’m eager to share a budget, but reluctant to do that before we’re confident we have an accurate picture. So, as much as I want this done, we’re holding off until we’re sure it’s done correctly.
Economic Changes
We will continue to hold off on making any final decisions regarding economic changes for Pocket Network. As I’m sure everyone can appreciate, these decisions are more critical to get right than rushing out. To that end, we’re working on a comprehensive review of the possible pros and cons of various options being considered. The objectives are to evaluate the possibilities and communicate options we are considering in a way that is least likely to be misunderstood. We appreciate your patience here.
Currently, the RTTM adjustments have been paused, meaning that there is a gradual increase of inflation with the increase of relays, but our goal remains to achieve a 1:1 mint/burn ratio after the launch of Shannon.
Marketing
We’ve already had a number of community contributors step up to help in some of our near term objectives.
We have three primary objectives in our near term marketing goals: driving adoption of our multi-chain strategy, increasing meaningful staking of the native token, and attracting additional new partnerships and gateways for the protocols to increase total usage. While the second and third items are ongoing, the first will begin in earnest this coming week.
With guidance from Vojtech, we are finalizing the incentives for our SOL and Base pools, and preparing for the public announcement of those pools in a comarketing partnership with Aero and Orca. This will include press releases and Twitter campaigns that everyone in our community can help boost to spread awareness. We are preparing resources for the ecosystem to directly participate, but our primary goal is to introduce POKT pools to the SOL and Base communities to onboard as many new participants as possible.
There’s a lot in motion right now, and my goal is to keep you as up to date as best I can. Feel free to reach out to me at any time.
As always, thank you for your support,
Michael
