Honestly, I think think they communicated their reasoning clearly (Resignation notice from Ben Perez and Dermot O’Riordan as directors of PNF). I didn’t see this letter or know of the contents prior to it’s posting, so it was my first time fully hearing their statement.
I’ve seen a number folks say what they feel they should have done, and that is all fair to each to have an opinion. I don’t think anything I would say would change your view of them TBH.
How I see it, they brought POKT its only real rally with the launch of wPOKT, plus set into motions initiatives that lead to Gatewayverse, Shannon tokenomics, new protocol hires, funding runway (until current events), market making, and DeFi multi-chain (which is still launching). As humans, they did quite enough in my book.
From what I saw, they fought on many levels for the DAO, and they were noble fights… until forking was on the table, which they heard from investors. With what they were operating with, they responded in the manner they felt was best to prevent a fork where POKT didn’t have Shannon. I respect that. Everyone agrees that POKT needs Shannon and a DAO, and as it turns out, the votes are in and POKT still has a DAO + Shannon. What would have been the outcome of them “fighting” in the manner you believe they should have? Who knows, but the results we have today is we still a DAO and Shannon.
The important immediate staples like gatewayverse and multi-chain are still moving forward, building off their original work, so there is still plenty of value we are still getting from their work… so let’s just keep building ![]()
