TOPIC:
The slow release protocol mechanism is an idea that stemmed from the economics of unstaking POKT tokens.
The original idea: nodes and developers submit a single transaction that would slowly unstake their tokens over an undefined (yet presumably lengthy) timeframe.
Original Purpose: Stabilize the POKT market by preventing actors from quickly unstaking and selling. The mechanism introduces a safety buffer that will allow the governing body (DAO) time to act accordingly.
BACKGROUND:
I am not an author or advocate of this idea, nor am I the author of this research topic. This is a follow up to the original issue brought up by @luyzdeleon An argument against Pocket Network's slow release mechanism
TOPIC:
A discussion about the Slow Release Mechanism. Whether or not it should be implemented, removed, or backlogged.
