PEP-23: PoktFund Ecosystem Development - Wallet, Pool & Open API's

The wallet would be open source and maintained by us, alongside any findings we have in regards to running nodes, operational excellency, etc. On top of this, some other things we would contribute to is any libraries that we also use - PocketJS being one of them or any libraries we have to develop ourselves to interact with the client.

A mobile wallet even without non custodial staking (we would support though) would still be beneficial. As of today, we only see most of users using exchanges and the web wallet as their main source of storage, which means they have to reimport keys each use, and other non user-friendly things. We know that the desktop version is in works by the Core team, which is great. To bring the funds even closer to the users mobile devices, increase visibility on the crypto, and bring a standard thatā€™s adopted by other platforms (alongside all the other wallet functionalities we have in proposal).

We believe this will work and would love to continue this conversation.

To the entire community

We hear the community loud and clear. We are having internal discussions regarding everyoneā€™s feedback and concerns and would love to continue the conversation regardless of outcome. We plan to revisit this proposal and use all this information to revise what better reflects what the community would be comfortable with. We definitely donā€™t see the DAO as a VC and didnā€™t offer any equity based statements in our proposal or messages to suggest this. We understand that the DAO is a self governing community with the purpose of enabling the development of value and has the shared treasury at itā€™s disposal to help accomplish this. While there certainly appears to be a large number of DAO voters who are against grants, there is no hard definition or rule to DAOs in general regarding this. We still firmly hold the stance that the ecosystem can benefit heavily from enabling/funding development instead of always reimbursing it in retrospect. That being said, we are going to re-approach this with a milestone based funding approach as a means of proving ourselves with less risk as well as a lower ask. We will also removing pooling from the proposal. We will also shoot for a neutral trusted community member who can verify objectively on our work history claims. The team is still very ecstatic at the chance to create waves in the Pocket ecosystem and we look forward to continuing communication. Thank you to the community for their input, it was extremely insightful and greatly appreciated.
