We’re excited to kick off the first leg of the POKT Gateway Accelerator Tour (PGAT)! This is your chance to build the next generation of Gateways that will shape the future of our network.
Here’s what you can expect if you join us: $25K USDC grant per team 3 months of intensive support Access to POKT Network Application Deadline 12/27/2024
I have some doubts about the expected outcomes of this program.
Do teams have to present a finished product? or it can be a proof of concept?
Given that much work has been done to facilitate the use of the Shannon testnet, with things like PATH making very easy to sen relays, what is expected from the teams? do they need to build upon tools or create new stacks?
What’s exactly what you are looking for? New gateways focused on onboarding consumers, focusing on making more available whats already built or you are looking to explore what can be built upon the existing products? In other words, you are looking for products or for PoCs?
I think it’s worth having a discussion about runner-up prizes and opportunities.
As of 7th January, Saeed mentioned that there have been over 100 applications to the PGAT program.
How do we encourage the teams that have strong project potential to build on Pocket that were not selected as the initial 6 recipients of the PGAT program?
While there is only budget and scope for 6 applicants to be selected on to the program,
it would be worth considering two further categories:
Strong applicants who should be given priority access for the next round of PGAT,
A runner-up prize of $3k - $5k to projects who would still bring value to the ecosystem and would be interested in taking a smaller amount of money for a smaller agreed upon scope of work (a PoC or similar goals).
Some teams may decide that a smaller grant is not worth it, but may be interested in reapplying in future. However, some teams may already be building something and would be interested in continuing with a smaller grant.
Although it’s a lot more work for Saeed, and he may need help in doing this, filtering good projects that would likely bring benefit to Pocket and seeing how we could incentivize them to continue to build on Pocket would be a win-win and strong ROI for Pocket.
I think we should allocate additional budget for the above as this is potentially some of the highest ROI spend PNF can make and we should maximise the opportunities offered.
