# Expansion of Board Observer Roles

While there are two open board observer roles, the current [observer application thread](https://forum.pokt.network/t/dao-appointed-board-observer-application/5013) shows there are a number of qualified people whose experience, connections, and expertise would benefit the protocol. I suggest that the two positions be opened up to a minimum of three.
